Indication

• For moderately to heavily exuding wounds

Composition

• Made of Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose with 1.2% ionic silver

• Combines unique Hydrofiber® gelling technology with the antimicrobial power of ionic silver

How It Works

• Fibres gel on contact with wound fluid through hydrophilic action

• Locks exudate and bacteria away from the wound by vertical wicking

• Creates a moist healing environment

• Kills a broad spectrum of wound pathogens (including MRSA, VRE, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa)

• Reduces wound bioburden by trapping bacteria and harmful components within the gelled fibres

Application

• Cleanse wound with saline, dry surrounding skin

• Apply dressing with at least 1cm overlap onto surrounding skin

• For cavity wounds:

  • Use AQUACEL Ag ribbon, loosely pack to ~80% capacity

  • Leave at least 2.5cm exposed for easy retrieval

• Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing
