Coloplast SenSura® Mio Convex Soft 1-Piece Closed is a closed colostomy pouch with a flexible Soft Convex baseplate, designed for stomas that sit above skin level but require gentle additional support because of minor creases, folds or unevenness around the stoma.

The Soft Convex baseplate combines stability with flexibility, helping maintain close contact around the stoma while adapting to normal body movement.

As a one-piece appliance, the adhesive baseplate and closed pouch form one complete unit. When the pouch is changed, the entire appliance is removed and replaced.

Soft Convex – what does it mean?

SenSura® Mio Convex is available in Soft, Light and Deep convexity levels.

Soft Convex provides the gentlest level of convex support.

It is designed particularly for stomas where the opening is above the level of the skin but where surrounding folds, creases or contours make additional stability useful.

Soft Convex should not automatically be substituted for Light or Deep Convex, as the appropriate degree of convexity depends on the stoma and abdominal profile.

Choosing the correct opening:

Starter-hole versions allow the opening to be adjusted to suit the individual stoma:

• 16501: 15–33mm

• 16505: 15–33mm

• 16506: 10–50mm

Pre-cut versions have a defined initial opening:

• 16510: 25mm

• 16511: 28mm

• 16512: 31mm

• 16513: 35mm

Always measure the stoma before selecting or preparing the pouch opening.

The opening should fit closely around the stoma without constricting it, helping minimise exposure of the surrounding skin to stoma output.

BodyFit Technology®

The elastic SenSura Mio adhesive is designed to stretch and retract with body movement, helping maintain close contact between the baseplate and skin as the abdomen moves during normal daily activities.

This flexibility works together with the Soft Convex shell to provide support without making the baseplate excessively rigid.

Full-circle filter

The integrated full-circle filter helps manage gas from the stoma and reduce pouch ballooning.

Its pre-filter helps protect the filter membrane from contact with stool, helping maintain airflow through the filter for longer.

Inspection window

The neutral grey pouch provides discretion during normal wear.

An inspection window allows the pouch to be opened for visual checking of:

• Stoma position

• Appliance fit

• Output

• The area immediately surrounding the stoma

without requiring a fully transparent pouch.

Directions:

Measure the stoma and select the appropriate pouch opening.

If using a starter-hole version, prepare the adhesive opening according to the manufacturer's instructions so that it fits closely around the stoma.

Clean the skin around the stoma according to the usual stoma-care routine.

Ensure the surrounding skin is appropriately dry.

Remove the protective backing from the adhesive baseplate.

Centre the opening carefully over the stoma.

Apply the baseplate smoothly to the skin and press gently around the stoma and adhesive area to establish secure contact.

Check that the appliance is correctly positioned and that no significant creases or gaps are present.

Because this is a closed pouch, the complete pouch is removed and replaced when it becomes full or according to the individual's normal stoma-care routine.
