Coloplast SenSura® Mio Convex Soft is a one-piece drainable ostomy pouch with gentle integrated convexity, designed to combine stability around the stoma with enough flexibility to follow normal body movement.

Soft Convex is intended particularly for stomas with an opening above skin level that require gentle support because of minor creases, folds or unevenness in the surrounding peristomal area.

The pouch and adhesive baseplate form a single integrated appliance, so no separate baseplate or coupling system is required.

SenSura® Mio features Coloplast's BodyFit Technology® elastic adhesive, integrated flexlines, a full-circle filter and a soft neutral-grey textile cover with an inspection window.

What is Soft convexity?

SenSura® Mio Convex is available in Soft, Light and Deep convexity options.

Soft Convex provides the gentlest level of support within the SenSura Mio Convex range.

It is designed primarily for a stoma whose opening sits above the level of the skin, but where some gentle support is required because the surrounding area contains minor folds, creases or other contour challenges.

This differs from:

• Light Convex – generally used where the stoma opening is approximately level with the skin or where moderate support is required

• Deep Convex – intended for more deeply recessed areas or stomas requiring greater support

The most appropriate degree of convexity should be selected according to the individual stoma and peristomal body profile.

• Ileostomy

• Colostomy with loose or liquid output where a drainable pouch is appropriate

• Stomas with an opening above skin level

Cut-to-fit options

16601 – Midi 15–33mm
Suitable for stomas within the 15–33mm range where a smaller Midi pouch is preferred.

16605 – Maxi 15–33mm
Same opening range with a larger Maxi pouch.

16606 – Maxi 10–50mm
Provides the broadest cut-to-fit range within these Soft Convex neutral-grey options.

Pre-cut 25mm opening; may be enlarged up to approximately 33mm where appropriate.

16611 – 28mm
Pre-cut 28mm opening; may be enlarged up to approximately 33mm.

16612 – 31mm

A pre-cut pouch should only be selected where the opening provides an appropriate fit for the individual's current stoma size.

BodyFit Technology®

The SenSura® Mio adhesive is elastic and designed to stretch and retract with the skin during body movement.

This helps the baseplate maintain close body contact while allowing freedom of movement and reducing unnecessary restriction around the abdomen.

Integrated flexlines

The convex baseplate incorporates flexlines that provide a combination of support around the stoma and flexibility away from the central convex area.

This helps the appliance conform to the body while maintaining the stability required from a convex pouch.

Full-circle filter

The integrated full-circle filter is designed to:

• Allow gas to escape from the pouch

• Help reduce ballooning

• Neutralise odour

• Support a lower-profile pouch under clothing

Inspection window

The neutral-grey pouch incorporates an inspection window, allowing the stoma and output to be viewed when required without requiring a fully transparent pouch during normal wear.

Directions:

The suitability of a convex appliance should be assessed according to the individual's stoma and surrounding body profile.

Measure the stoma carefully before selecting or preparing the opening.

For a cut-to-fit version, cut the baseplate opening to fit closely around the stoma.

For a pre-cut version, confirm that the supplied opening is appropriate for the current stoma diameter.

Clean the skin around the stoma according to the usual stoma-care routine.

Ensure the surrounding skin is appropriately dry.

Remove the protective backing from the adhesive.

Centre the pouch opening carefully over the stoma.

Apply the baseplate to the skin and press gently around the stoma to establish secure contact.

Smooth the adhesive outward over the surrounding skin.

Ensure the drainable outlet is securely closed before use.

Empty the pouch regularly before it becomes excessively full or heavy.

• Seek advice from a Stoma Care Nurse if appliance fit, leakage or peristomal skin problems persist
