Correct measurement and selection of compression class are essential. Compression hosiery may be unsuitable for people with significant arterial disease, acute DVT, uncontrolled heart failure, peripheral neuropathy or certain other circulatory conditions.
For significantly distorted or irregular-shaped limbs, compression bandaging or an adjustable compression wrap may be more appropriate until the limb shape is suitable for hosiery.
