SpeediCath is a range of sterile, hydrophilic intermittent urinary catheters designed for people who require intermittent bladder drainage. SpeediCath catheters are supplied pre-hydrated and instantly ready to use, with no need to add water, lubricant or wait for the coating to activate.

The hydrophilic coating and polished catheter eyelets are designed to provide a smooth, low-friction surface during insertion and withdrawal, helping support comfortable and straightforward intermittent catheterisation.

The range includes standard Nelaton catheters for men and women, paediatric and boy lengths, and SpeediCath Flex catheters for men requiring a softer catheter with a flexible tip and protective dry sleeve.

Suitable for:

Directions:

SpeediCath should only be used after the user or carer has been shown the correct catheterisation technique by a healthcare professional.

Wash and dry your hands before catheterisation.

Open the sterile package according to the manufacturer's instructions.

SpeediCath catheters are pre-hydrated and ready to use immediately, so additional water or lubricant is not normally required.

Insert the catheter using the catheterisation technique demonstrated by your healthcare professional.

Advance the catheter gently until urine begins to flow.

Allow the bladder to empty completely.

Once urine flow has stopped, slowly and gently withdraw the catheter.

Dispose of the catheter after use.

Use a new sterile catheter for every catheterisation.

• Do not force the catheter if significant resistance is encountered

• Stop and seek medical advice if catheterisation causes unusual pain, persistent bleeding or becomes significantly more difficult

• Do not use if the sterile packaging is damaged or already opened

• Maintain good hand hygiene before and after catheterisation

• Never share catheters

• Seek medical advice if you develop possible symptoms of a urinary tract infection, such as fever, persistent bladder or kidney pain, cloudy urine or significant changes in urinary symptoms

• Seek urgent medical advice if you are unable to pass your catheter and cannot empty your bladder

• Children should use intermittent catheters only according to an individually assessed catheterisation programme
