Canesten Hydrocortisone Athlete’s Foot Cream is a combined antifungal and mild corticosteroid treatment for athlete’s foot and fungal sweat rash where the infection is accompanied by redness, swelling and itching.

It contains Clotrimazole 1% w/w, which treats the fungal infection, together with Hydrocortisone 1%, a mild corticosteroid that helps rapidly reduce inflammation, redness and itching.

Suitable for:

• Athlete’s foot with associated inflammation and itching

• Candidal intertrigo / fungal sweat rash

• Fungal skin infections in these areas where rapid relief of accompanying inflammation is required

Directions:

For adults, elderly people and children aged 10 years and over:

Apply a thin and even layer to the affected area twice daily and rub in gently.

Wash and dry the affected skin thoroughly before application. When treating athlete’s foot, pay particular attention to drying between the toes.

Treatment should not continue for longer than 7 days.

If the inflammation has improved after 7 days but antifungal treatment is still required, treatment may need to be continued with a steroid-free antifungal product. Ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice.

• Do not use on broken skin

• Do not use on the face, eyes, mouth or other mucous membranes

• Do not use under airtight or occlusive dressings, including bandages

• Do not use to treat acne, rosacea, cold sores, chickenpox or shingles

• Do not use on untreated bacterial skin infections

• Do not use for ringworm unless prescribed by a doctor

• Do not use on the genital or anal area unless prescribed by a doctor

• Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor

• Do not use if you are allergic to clotrimazole, hydrocortisone or any of the other ingredients

• Contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions

• Contains benzyl alcohol, which may cause mild local irritation or allergic reactions

• Stop using and seek advice if significant irritation or an allergic reaction develops

• If symptoms worsen or have not improved after 7 days, speak to a pharmacist or doctor

• Store below 25°C

• Once opened, use within 6 months
