Complan Shake is a high-energy powdered nutritional supplement for the dietary management of people with disease-related malnutrition who are unable to meet their nutritional requirements through their normal diet.

Each 57g sachet is normally mixed with 200ml whole milk, providing approximately 381 kcal and 15.8g protein per prepared serving. Complan Shake can also be added to foods as a fortifier to increase their energy and nutritional content.

Ingredients:

Ingredients vary according to flavour.

Vanilla flavour contains: skimmed cow's milk, maltodextrin, vegetable oils (palm olein, sunflower oil), sucrose, magnesium hydrogen phosphate, vanilla flavouring, xanthan gum, sodium L-ascorbate, calcium carbonate, ferrous sulphate, vitamin E, nicotinamide, choline chloride, zinc sulphate, vitamin C, calcium D-pantothenate, folic acid, biotin, vitamin K, manganese sulphate, cupric sulphate, vitamin B6, thiamin, vitamin A, riboflavin, vitamin D, vitamin B12, potassium iodide, chromium chloride, sodium molybdate and sodium selenite.

Complan Shake contains a significant amount of lactose and is not suitable for people with cow's milk intolerance or galactosaemia.

How to use:

Complan Shake can be prepared with 200ml whole milk or water, although preparation with whole milk provides additional energy and protein.

For preparation with milk:

1. Pour approximately 50ml whole milk into a large glass, mug or shaker.
2. Add the contents of one 57g sachet.
3. Mix thoroughly with a whisk or fork until a smooth cream is formed.
4. Gradually add the remaining 150ml whole milk, stirring continuously until completely mixed.

Alternatively, prepare in a suitable shaker.

Complan Shake can be served chilled or gently warmed according to preference.

It can also be added to suitable foods to increase their energy and nutrient content.

The amount required should be determined by a doctor, dietitian or other healthcare professional according to the individual's nutritional requirements.

Not suitable for:

• Children under 3 years
• People with galactosaemia
• People with cow's milk intolerance

Use with caution in children aged 3–6 years.

Complan Shake is ACBS approved for use in conditions including:

• Disease-related malnutrition
• Short bowel syndrome
• Intractable malabsorption
• Pre-operative preparation of undernourished patients
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Total gastrectomy
• Dysphagia
• Bowel fistulae

Storage:

Store unopened sachets in a cool, dry place at 5–25°C.

Once prepared:

• Use within 2 hours at room temperature, or
• Store in a refrigerator and use within 24 hours

Discard any unused prepared product after this time.
