Coloplast Brava® Protective Seal is a flexible and mouldable ostomy barrier seal designed to help reduce leakage and protect the skin around the stoma.

The seal is positioned between the stoma and the adhesive baseplate, helping fill gaps, dips, creases and folds that might otherwise allow stoma output to travel underneath the appliance. Its flexible yet robust construction is designed to follow normal body movement while maintaining a close fit around the stoma.

Code 12045 has an 18mm inner diameter, 48mm outer diameter and 4.2mm thickness, making it a compact, thicker seal suitable where additional filling capacity is required around a smaller stoma.

Directions:

Ensure the skin around the stoma is clean and completely dry.

Remove one Brava® Protective Seal from its protective backing.

Gently stretch and mould the opening as required so that it fits closely around the individual stoma.

Position the seal around the base of the stoma, ensuring that gaps, dips, creases or uneven areas are appropriately filled.

Press gently into place.

Apply the stoma pouch or baseplate over the seal according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions.

Press gently around the barrier to establish good contact between the skin, protective seal and baseplate.

Replace the seal whenever the stoma appliance is changed.

• Do not use if you have a known sensitivity to any of the product materials

• Stop use if significant irritation or an unexpected skin reaction develops

• Seek advice from a Stoma Care Nurse if leakage or peristomal skin damage persists
