Coloplast Brava® Ostomy Powder is a moisture-absorbing stoma powder designed for use on moist or irritated peristomal skin.

Excess moisture around a stoma can contribute to skin irritation and can also prevent the adhesive baseplate from attaching securely. Brava® Powder absorbs moisture from the skin, helping create a drier surface for application of the stoma appliance while supporting protection of vulnerable peristomal skin.

Brava® Powder is intended primarily for moist areas of skin. It is generally not necessary on normal, healthy and completely dry peristomal skin.

Directions:

Clean the skin around the stoma according to the usual stoma-care routine.

Gently dry the surrounding skin as thoroughly as possible.

Apply a small amount of Brava® Powder to the moist or affected area.

Allow the powder to absorb the excess moisture.

Gently remove or brush away any loose excess powder before applying the stoma appliance.

The aim is to leave a thin layer only where required, rather than a heavy coating of powder.

Apply the pouch or baseplate according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions.

Repeat at subsequent appliance changes if the skin remains moist and continued use is appropriate.

Important information:

• For external peristomal skin use

• Designed to absorb moisture from moist or irritated skin

• Do not apply excessive amounts

• Excess loose powder should be removed before attaching the stoma appliance, as too much powder may interfere with adhesion

• It is not normally required on healthy, dry skin

• Do not apply directly into the stoma

• Avoid inhaling the powder

• Avoid contact with the eyes

• Stop use if an unexpected skin reaction occurs

• Persistent moisture, soreness, bleeding, ulceration or recurrent leakage should be assessed rather than managed indefinitely with powder alone

• Leakage beneath the baseplate may indicate that the appliance size, seal or convexity requires reassessment

• Seek advice from a Stoma Care Nurse if peristomal skin problems persist or worsen

• Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use
