Directions:

Wash and dry your hands before handling the urinary drainage system.

Remove one Conveen® Standard drainage bag from its packaging using appropriate hygiene or aseptic technique according to the individual's catheter-care plan.

Connect the drainage bag securely to the compatible urinary drainage device or tubing.

Position the bag below the level of the bladder to promote unobstructed drainage.

Ensure that the tubing:

  • Is not kinked or twisted

  • Is not trapped underneath the patient

  • Has sufficient slack to avoid pulling on the catheter or urinary sheath

  • Allows urine to flow freely into the bag

Make sure the outlet clamp is securely closed before use.

For bedside use, support the bag using an appropriate drainage-bag stand or hanger arrangement.

Empty the bag before it becomes excessively full.

To empty:

  1. Position the outlet over a toilet or suitable receptacle.

  2. Open the clamp without allowing the outlet to touch the receptacle.

  3. Allow the urine to drain completely.

  4. Close the clamp securely after emptying.

Always follow the individual's catheter-care plan and the manufacturer's instructions for use.

Important information:

  • Capacity: 1,500ml / 1.5 litres

  • This is a drainable night drainage bag

  • Keep the drainage bag below bladder level during use

  • Ensure tubing remains free from kinks and obstruction

  • Avoid allowing the bag to become excessively full

  • Check that the clamp is securely closed after emptying

  • Follow local guidance regarding frequency of bag replacement and urinary catheter management

  • Do not use if the sterile packaging is damaged or opened before intended use

  • Reduced or absent urine drainage may indicate tubing obstruction, catheter blockage or another problem requiring assessment

  • Never force or flush a urinary catheter unless this forms part of an appropriate prescribed catheter-care protocol

  • Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use
