Ferrograd 325mg Modified Release Tablets are an iron medicine used for the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia. The prolonged-release formulation gradually releases iron as the tablet passes through the gastrointestinal tract.

Active ingredient:

Each tablet contains:

  • Dried Ferrous Sulphate: 325mg
  • Equivalent to Elemental Iron: 105mg

How to take:
Adults, including the elderly, and children aged 12 years and over: Take one tablet daily.

Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not suck, chew or keep the tablet in the mouth.

Ferrograd is preferably taken before food. If it causes stomach upset, it may be taken during a meal.

Important information:
Not recommended for children under 12 years.

Do not take Ferrograd if you have haemochromatosis, haemosiderosis, intestinal obstruction or diverticular disease, receive repeated blood transfusions, or are receiving iron by injection.

Iron can interact with a number of medicines, including some antibiotics, levothyroxine, bisphosphonates and antacids. Speak to your pharmacist if you take other medicines.

Possible side effects include nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea and dark stools.

Important: Contains iron. Keep out of the reach and sight of children, as overdose may be fatal.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition or are unsure whether you have iron deficiency, speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use.
