Ferrograd C is a prolonged-release iron medicine containing ferrous sulphate together with vitamin C. It is used for the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia and for the simultaneous treatment of vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin C helps improve the absorption of iron.

Active ingredients:
Each tablet contains:
- Dried Ferrous Sulphate: 325mg
- Equivalent to Elemental Iron: 105mg
- Sodium Ascorbate: 562.4mg
- Equivalent to Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): 500mg
How to take:
Adults, including the elderly, and children aged 12 years and over: Take one tablet daily.
Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not suck, chew or keep the tablet in the mouth.
The tablet is preferably taken before food. If it causes stomach upset, it may be taken with a meal.
Important information:
Not recommended for children under 12 years.
Do not take Ferrograd C if you have haemochromatosis or haemosiderosis, intestinal obstruction or diverticular disease, receive repeated blood transfusions, or are receiving iron by injection.
Iron can interact with a number of medicines and may reduce their absorption. Speak to your pharmacist if you take other medicines, particularly some antibiotics, levothyroxine, bisphosphonates or antacids.
Possible side effects can include nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea and dark stools.
Important: Contains iron. Keep out of the reach and sight of children, as overdose may be fatal.
