How this service works

We offer assessment and treatment for cellulitis (a bacterial skin infection) through a private consultation with our pharmacist independent prescriber.

Cellulitis is not covered under the NHS Pharmacy First service.

Private Pharmacist Prescribing

Our pharmacist independent prescriber can assess you and, where appropriate, provide treatment through a private consultation.

A private consultation fee applies, and treatment is only provided following a clinical assessment.

What to expect from your consultation

During your consultation:

• A clinical assessment will be carried out
• The affected skin area will be examined
• Red-flag symptoms will be checked
• Treatment will only be provided if clinically appropriate
• Clear advice and safety-netting will be given
• If the condition is not suitable for pharmacy treatment, we will refer you to your GP or urgent care.

• Cellulitis can worsen quickly if not treated appropriately
• Early assessment is important
• Some cases require GP or hospital care
