How this service works
We offer assessment and treatment for muscle inflammation and pain through a private consultation with our pharmacist independent prescriber.
This condition is not covered under the NHS Pharmacy First service.
Private Pharmacist Prescribing
Our pharmacist independent prescriber can assess you and, where appropriate, provide treatment through a private consultation.
A private consultation fee applies, and treatment is only provided following a clinical assessment.
What to expect from your consultation
During your consultation:
- A clinical assessment will be carried out
- Your symptoms, location, and duration will be reviewed
- Red-flag symptoms will be checked
- Treatment will only be provided if clinically appropriate
- Clear advice on pain relief, activity, and recovery will be given
- If the condition is not suitable for pharmacy treatment, we will refer you to your GP or urgent care.
Important information
- Many cases improve with rest and self-care
- Anti-inflammatory medicines are not suitable for everyone
- Long-term or worsening pain may require further investigation
