LoFric Female is a single-use hydrophilic intermittent urinary catheter designed for female bladder management. The 15cm catheter features Wellspect’s Urotonic™ Surface Technology, which forms a smooth, low-friction surface when activated with clean water to help support comfortable insertion and withdrawal.

The catheter has a soft, rounded Nelaton tip and smooth drainage eyelets and is suitable for short- or long-term intermittent catheterisation following assessment and instruction by a healthcare professional.

Directions:

LoFric should only be used after you have been shown the correct intermittent catheterisation technique by a healthcare professional.

Wash and dry your hands before use.

Open the catheter package according to the manufacturer's instructions.

LoFric requires clean water to activate the hydrophilic Urotonic™ coating before use.

Allow the catheter coating to become fully activated according to the supplied instructions.

Gently insert the catheter using the technique demonstrated by your healthcare professional until urine begins to flow.

Allow the bladder to empty completely.

When urine flow has stopped, slowly and gently withdraw the catheter.

Dispose of the catheter after use.

Use a new sterile catheter for every catheterisation.

• Activate the catheter with clean water before use

• Do not force the catheter if significant resistance is encountered

• Stop and seek advice if catheterisation causes unusual resistance, significant pain or persistent bleeding

• Do not use if the sterile packaging is damaged or already opened

• Maintain good hand hygiene before and after catheterisation

• Never share catheters

• Seek medical advice if catheterisation becomes more difficult than usual

• Seek medical advice if symptoms of a possible urinary tract infection develop, such as fever, persistent bladder or urinary pain, cloudy urine or significant changes in urinary symptoms

• Seek urgent medical advice if you are unable to pass the catheter and cannot empty your bladder

• Store in the original packaging in a dry place at room temperature
