Directions:

This catheter should be inserted and managed by an appropriately trained healthcare professional, or in accordance with an individual catheter-care plan provided by a healthcare professional.

Use appropriate aseptic catheterisation technique and follow the manufacturer's instructions for use.

Insert the catheter gently until correct placement within the bladder has been confirmed.

The supplied pre-filled syringe contains 10ml sterile water for inflation of the retention balloon.

Inflate the balloon only after correct catheter positioning has been confirmed.

Connect the catheter to an appropriate urine drainage bag or catheter valve as clinically indicated.

The catheter may remain in place for up to 90 days, where clinically appropriate. The actual replacement interval should be determined according to the patient's individual clinical needs and catheter-care plan.

• Do not reuse or resterilise

• Use only by, or under the direction of, an appropriately trained healthcare professional

• Do not use if the sterile packaging is damaged or already open

• Always use the catheter size recommended for the patient

• Do not force the catheter if significant resistance is encountered

• Never inflate the retention balloon until correct placement in the bladder has been confirmed

• Do not exceed the specified 10ml balloon volume

• Use only water-based lubricants where additional lubrication is required

• Do not use petroleum-based lubricants

• Maintain an appropriate closed urinary drainage system wherever possible

• Ensure drainage tubing is free from kinks and the drainage bag is positioned appropriately

• Monitor for catheter blockage, bypassing, leakage, pain or signs of infection

• Seek medical assessment if urine drainage significantly reduces or stops, or if persistent pain, bleeding, fever, cloudy urine or other symptoms of urinary infection develop

• The balloon must be completely deflated before catheter removal
