CONTOUR NEXT Blood Glucose Test Strips are designed for use with compatible CONTOUR NEXT blood glucose meters. They require only a small blood sample and feature Second-Chance® Sampling, allowing additional blood to be applied to the same strip if the first sample is insufficient.

How to use:

Wash and thoroughly dry your hands before testing.

Remove one CONTOUR NEXT test strip from the container and close the container immediately.

Insert the grey end of the strip into the compatible CONTOUR NEXT meter. The meter will switch on automatically.

Use a compatible lancing device to obtain a small drop of blood. Touch the sampling tip of the test strip to the blood and allow the strip to draw in the required sample.

If the initial sample is insufficient, compatible meters allow additional blood to be applied to the same strip for up to 60 seconds.

The blood glucose result will be displayed after approximately 5 seconds.

Important information:

CONTOUR NEXT Test Strips should only be used with compatible CONTOUR NEXT-family meters. They are not interchangeable with CONTOUR, CONTOUR PLUS or CONTOUR TS strips.

The CONTOUR NEXT ONE meter itself has now been discontinued in the UK, but Ascensia confirms that compatible CONTOUR NEXT Test Strips remain available for existing users. The current CONTOUR NEXT meter uses the same strips.

Test strips are for single use only. Never reuse a strip.

Store strips in their original container at 0–30°C. Close the lid tightly immediately after removing a strip and protect the strips from excessive heat and moisture. Do not use after the expiry date.

If the meter or strips are moved between substantially different temperatures, allow approximately 20 minutes for them to adjust before testing.

If a blood glucose result does not match your symptoms or expectations, repeat the test with a new strip and follow your diabetes management plan or seek advice from a healthcare professional.
