Coloplast Brava® Elastic Tape is a soft, elastic hydrocolloid flange extender designed to provide additional security around the edge of a stoma baseplate.

The flexible tape is applied over the outer edge of the baseplate to help prevent lifting and rolling, supporting a more secure appliance fit. Its elasticity allows it to follow the natural contours and movements of the body, helping the stoma appliance remain securely positioned during everyday activity.

The hydrocolloid material also absorbs moisture, helping maintain adhesion where perspiration or moisture around the edge of the baseplate might otherwise contribute to lifting.

Directions:

Apply the stoma pouch or baseplate according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions.

Ensure the surrounding skin and outer edge of the baseplate are clean and dry.

Remove the protective backing from one Brava Elastic Tape strip.

Position the tape so that it overlaps both the outer edge of the baseplate and the surrounding skin.

Gently smooth the tape into place, ensuring there are no folds or creases.

Use one or two pieces as required to provide the desired level of reinforcement.

Replace the tape when changing the stoma appliance or sooner if it becomes loose, damaged or soiled.

Important information:

• For external stoma-care use only

• Apply over the outer edge of the baseplate

• Do not apply directly over the stoma

• The tape is designed to reinforce the baseplate and should not be used to compensate for an incorrectly fitted stoma appliance

• Ensure the skin is clean and dry before application

• Do not apply excessive tension when fitting the tape

• Monitor the skin for redness, soreness, irritation or pressure marks

• Stop use if significant irritation or an unexpected skin reaction develops

• Persistent baseplate lifting or leakage may indicate that the appliance size, shape or convexity requires reassessment

• Seek advice from a Stoma Care Nurse if leakage or skin problems continue despite appropriate appliance use
