Dansac GX-tra™ Seal is a mouldable hydrocolloid ostomy barrier ring designed to provide additional protection against leakage around the stoma. It can help create a more even surface beneath the stoma appliance, improving the seal where folds, scars or uneven contours might otherwise allow stoma output to reach the skin.

This version has a 30mm starter hole, 60mm outer diameter and 2.5mm thickness. The seal can be stretched to fit more closely around the stoma or cut into smaller sections to fill individual skin folds, scars or depressions.

Directions:

Ensure the skin around the stoma is clean and completely dry before application.

Remove one GX-tra Seal from its protective backing.

Gently stretch and mould the seal so that the opening fits closely around the stoma.

The seal may be cut into smaller pieces if required to fill individual folds, scars or uneven areas.

Apply the seal either:

• directly around the stoma on the skin, or

• directly to the adhesive skin barrier of the stoma appliance.

Press gently into place to create an even surface and close any gaps.

Apply the stoma pouch or baseplate over the GX-tra Seal according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions.

Replace the seal whenever the stoma appliance is changed.

Important information:

• For external stoma-care use

• Select a seal size appropriate for the individual stoma diameter and surrounding skin contour

• The 30mm measurement is the starter-hole diameter, not the overall diameter of the seal

• Outer diameter is 60mm

• Do not apply excessive pressure directly to the stoma

• Monitor the surrounding skin for redness, soreness, breakdown or persistent leakage

• Persistent leakage may indicate that the pouch, seal or convexity requires reassessment

• Stoma size can change over time, particularly following surgery or changes in body weight

• Re-measure the stoma if the existing seal no longer provides a suitable fit

• Stop use if significant irritation or an unexpected skin reaction occurs

• Seek advice from a Stoma Care Nurse if leakage or skin damage continues despite correct application

• Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use
