ConvaTec Esteem synergy®+ Closed-End Pouch is a two-piece closed ostomy pouch designed for use with compatible Esteem synergy® skin barriers. The system uses ConvaTec's Adhesive Coupling Technology™, providing a flexible, low-profile connection without the rigid plastic coupling rings used in conventional two-piece systems.

A soft foam adhesive on the pouch attaches securely to the clear Landing Zone of the compatible Esteem synergy® baseplate. This combines the flexibility and low profile associated with a one-piece appliance with the versatility of a two-piece system, allowing the pouch to be changed separately from the skin barrier.

The closed-end pouch is particularly suitable for people with a colostomy and formed or predictable output.

Closed-end pouches are generally most appropriate where output is sufficiently formed and predictable for the complete pouch to be removed and replaced when required. A drainable pouch may be more suitable for frequent, loose or liquid output.

Directions:

Apply the compatible Esteem synergy® skin barrier according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Ensure the clear Landing Zone on the skin barrier is clean and ready for pouch attachment.

Select a pouch with the correct coupling size for the fitted baseplate.

Remove the protective material from the adhesive coupling area of the pouch.

Carefully align the pouch over the baseplate's Landing Zone.

Press the adhesive coupling securely around the entire circumference to create an even attachment.

Check that the pouch is completely secured before use.

When the closed pouch requires changing, gently peel the pouch away from the Landing Zone while leaving the skin barrier in place if it remains clinically suitable.

Attach a new compatible pouch according to the same procedure.
