ConvaTec Esteem synergy® Flat Mouldable Skin Barrier is a flat ostomy baseplate for use with compatible Esteem synergy® two-piece pouches. Code 411658 features a 48mm adhesive coupling and a mouldable opening suitable for stomas measuring 22–33mm.

Rather than requiring the opening to be cut with scissors, ConvaTec Mouldable Technology™ allows the barrier to be gently rolled and moulded to the individual shape and size of the stoma. This helps create a close fit around the stoma and reduces exposed peristomal skin.

Esteem synergy® uses Adhesive Coupling Technology™, where the pouch attaches to the clear landing zone on the baseplate using a soft adhesive foam ring rather than a conventional rigid plastic coupling ring. This creates a flexible, low-profile two-piece system.

Directions:

Measure the stoma to confirm that it falls within the 22–33mm mouldable range.

Ensure the peristomal skin is clean and completely dry before application.

Remove the protective release liner from the skin barrier.

Using clean fingers, gently roll back and mould the starter opening until it closely matches the individual size and shape of the stoma.

Do not cut the mouldable opening with scissors unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer.

Centre the opening over the stoma and gently apply the baseplate to the surrounding skin.

Press the barrier into place, particularly around the base of the stoma, to establish good skin contact.

Attach a compatible 48mm Esteem synergy® pouch to the adhesive landing zone, following the pouch manufacturer's instructions.

Smooth the adhesive coupling together to ensure a secure connection between the pouch and baseplate.
