OptiFlo S is a sterile 0.9% sodium chloride catheter maintenance solution designed for the mechanical rinsing of indwelling urinary catheters where flushing has been clinically recommended.

The isotonic saline solution can help remove small blood clots, mucus, debris and other mechanical obstructions from the catheter. Unlike the citric-acid OptiFlo G and OptiFlo R solutions, OptiFlo S does not dissolve catheter encrustation or crystalline deposits.

OptiFlo S should not be used as an alternative to a citric-acid solution where catheter encrustation is the identified problem.

Directions:

Do not force saline into the catheter or bladder if resistance is encountered.

After completing the prescribed procedure, disconnect the OptiFlo system and reconnect the appropriate catheter valve or urine drainage bag.

Dispose of the used container after use.
