Correct sizing is important. Select the collar according to the diameter of the stoma, rather than the size of the opening in the pouch.

Directions:

Ensure the surrounding skin is clean and dry.

Gently place the collar over the stoma and down towards the base, positioning it so that it fits closely around the stoma.

Apply the stoma pouch or baseplate over the collar according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions.

Ensure the pouch is securely adhered and that there are no significant gaps through which stoma output could reach the surrounding skin.

Replace the collar whenever the stoma appliance is changed.
