UroFlush R is the stronger citric-acid option within the UroFlush range. For less severe or routine encrustation management, UroFlush G (Suby G) 3.23% citric acid may be more appropriate depending on the patient's catheter-care plan.

Directions:

Use only according to a doctor's prescription or established catheter-management protocol.

The manufacturer's instructions state that UroFlush G/R may be used at least two or three times per week depending on medical need, with an effective contact time of approximately 15–20 minutes. The solution must never be forced into the bladder.

1. Clean or disinfect hands before use or use appropriate gloves.
2. Open the outer packaging and remove the UroFlush bag.
3. Close the tubing using the plastic clamp.
4. Remove the protective sleeve from the connector as instructed.
5. Connect the UroFlush bag to the catheter.
6. Open the clamp and administer according to the prescribed irrigation protocol.
7. Allow the solution to remain for the period specified in the individual care plan.
8. Never force the solution into the bladder.
9. Remove the bag after use and reconnect the urine drainage bag or catheter valve as appropriate.

The manufacturer advises not to use the solution cold. Warm the unopened bag in lukewarm water before use; do not microwave. Check the temperature against the inner wrist before administration.
