Coloplast Brava® Skin Barrier Wipes are sting-free protective wipes designed to help protect the skin around a stoma from irritation caused by stoma output and repeated exposure to adhesive appliances.

After application, the liquid dries to form a thin, breathable and transparent protective film over the skin. This provides an additional barrier between vulnerable peristomal skin and potential irritants while allowing the next stoma baseplate to adhere effectively.

The individually packaged wipes are convenient for everyday appliance changes, travel and use away from home.

Key features:

  • Protective peristomal skin barrier wipe

  • Sting-free formulation

  • Forms a thin, breathable protective film

  • Helps protect skin against stoma output

  • Helps protect against irritation associated with repeated use of adhesives

  • Transparent film allows the underlying skin to remain visible

  • Designed not to compromise adhesion of the next baseplate

  • Quick drying

  • A new baseplate can be applied almost immediately once the film has dried

  • Convenient individually packaged wipe format

  • Particularly useful for travel and appliance changes away from home

  • Coloplast order code: 12021

  • Pack of 30 wipes

Suitable for:

  • Colostomy

  • Ileostomy

  • Skin at risk of irritation from frequent appliance changes

  • Providing a protective layer beneath an ostomy appliance

  • Smaller areas where a wipe is more convenient than a spray

  • Routine protection of vulnerable peristomal skin where clinically appropriate

Directions:

Clean the skin around the stoma according to the usual stoma-care routine.

Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.

Open one Brava® Skin Barrier Wipe and gently wipe over the area requiring protection.

Apply a thin, even coating rather than repeatedly saturating the skin.

Allow the protective film to dry completely.

Once dry, apply the stoma baseplate or pouching system according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions.

Reapply at subsequent appliance changes as required according to the condition of the skin and the manufacturer's instructions.

Important information:

  • For external skin use

  • Designed primarily for protection of the skin surrounding a stoma

  • Apply as a thin, even layer

  • Allow the barrier film to dry before attaching the next appliance

  • Do not apply directly into the stoma

  • Avoid contact with the eyes

  • Stop use if an unexpected skin reaction occurs

  • Persistent soreness, bleeding, ulceration, weeping skin or recurrent leakage should not be managed with barrier film alone

  • Recurrent leakage may indicate that the appliance opening, seal or convexity requires reassessment
