Salactol Wart Paint 10ml (P)

Salactol Wart Paint is a topical treatment for warts, verrucas, corns and calluses. It contains Salicylic Acid 16.7% w/w and Lactic Acid 16.7% w/w, which work together to soften and break down hard, thickened skin so that it can gradually be removed.

The keratolytic action of the acids helps remove the affected tissue and assists in the treatment of the virus responsible for warts and verrucas.

Suitable for:

Directions:

Use once daily, usually in the evening.

1. Soak the affected area in warm water for 2–3 minutes.

2. Dry thoroughly. If treating a wart or verruca, use your own towel to help prevent spreading the infection.

3. Gently rub away loose hard skin using a pumice stone or emery board. Do not cause bleeding.

4. Using the applicator attached to the cap, carefully apply a few drops directly to the wart, verruca, corn or callus.

5. Allow each drop to dry before applying the next.

6. Avoid applying the solution to surrounding healthy skin.

7. If treating a verruca on the sole of the foot, cover the treated area with an adhesive plaster.

8. Repeat treatment daily.

Treatment may need to be continued for several weeks. Resistant warts, verrucas, corns or calluses can take up to 12 weeks to disappear.

• Do not use if you are allergic to salicylic acid, lactic acid or any of the other ingredients

• Do not use if you have diabetes

• Do not use if you have poor circulation in your hands or feet

• Do not use on or near the face, armpits, breasts, buttocks or genital area

• Do not use on moles, birthmarks or hairy warts

• Do not use on unidentified skin lesions

• Do not apply to broken skin, cuts or grazes

• Avoid contact with the eyes, nose and mouth

• Apply only to the affected area and avoid surrounding healthy skin

• Take particular care when treating children because their skin may be more easily irritated

• Do not apply excessive amounts

• If pregnant, Salactol should generally only be used for the short-term treatment of a single small wart, verruca, corn or callus after seeking healthcare advice

• If breastfeeding, seek advice from a pharmacist or doctor before use

• Stop treatment and seek advice if severe irritation develops

• Do not share pumice stones or emery boards used on warts or verrucas, as the infection can spread

• Highly flammable – keep away from flames, cigarettes and other ignition sources

• Avoid inhaling the vapour

• Store below 25°C

• Keep the bottle tightly closed and upright
