Ferrous Fumarate is an iron medicine used to prevent and treat iron-deficiency anaemia.
Key features:
- Contains ferrous fumarate 210 mg
- Provides approximately 65–70 mg elemental iron per tablet
- Suitable for prevention or treatment of iron deficiency
How to take:
For treatment, adults usually take one tablet two or three times daily. For prevention, take one tablet once or twice daily.
Important information:
Not recommended for children; a liquid iron preparation may be more appropriate. Iron can cause nausea, constipation, diarrhoea and dark stools. Tea, milk and some medicines can reduce iron absorption.
Keep securely away from children, as overdose can be fatal.
