30cm long tube

Reference DSLB350L incorporates a 30cm long inlet tube.

The additional tube length provides greater flexibility when positioning the bag lower on the leg than the equivalent short-tube version.

The longer tube may be useful where:

• Additional distance is needed between the catheter and drainage bag

• Clothing makes lower-leg positioning preferable

• A 10cm tube does not provide sufficient positioning flexibility

The tubing should be arranged so that urine can flow freely.

Spirit® leg bags use a 180° FLIP-FLO® lever tap.

The lever provides straightforward control when emptying the bag and has a relatively flat profile against the leg.

To empty the bag:

• Position the outlet over a toilet or suitable receptacle

• Operate the lever according to the manufacturer's instructions

• Allow the urine to drain

• Avoid allowing the outlet to touch the toilet or receptacle

• Close the lever completely afterwards

• Check that the tap is securely closed before repositioning clothing

Regularly check that the tap continues to operate correctly and does not leak.

Universal ridged connector

The Spirit® leg bag has a universal ridged connector for connection to an appropriate urinary drainage system.

When connecting the bag:

This allows urine to drain through the daytime leg bag into the larger night bag while sleeping.

When using overnight drainage:

• Use a compatible drainage system

• Ensure all connections are secure

• Position the night bag below bladder level

• Keep all tubing free from kinks

• Avoid trapping tubing underneath the body or bedding

• Ensure tubing does not pull on the catheter or leg bag

• Check that urine can drain freely

Always follow the instructions supplied with both drainage products.

Positioning the bag

The appropriate bag position depends on:

Changing the leg bag
