Wash hands thoroughly and sterilise all feeding equipment according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Boil fresh water and allow it to cool for approximately 30 minutes. Measure the required amount of water into a sterilised bottle.
Using only the scoop supplied, add the correct number of level scoops.
For the standard dilution, use 3 level scoops (approximately 13.4g powder) with 90ml water.
Close the bottle and shake vigorously until the powder is completely dissolved. Cool to feeding temperature and check the temperature before feeding.
A higher-energy concentration using 4 scoops with 90ml water may be prescribed for infants with increased energy requirements. This should only be used when specifically advised by a clinician or dietitian.
Important information:
Breastfeeding is best for babies. Aptamil Pepti Junior is a Food for Special Medical Purposes and should only be used under medical supervision after consideration of all feeding options, including breastfeeding.
The recommended amount and concentration should be determined by a clinician or dietitian according to the infant's age, weight and medical condition.
Not suitable for infants with galactosaemia or galactokinase deficiency. The manufacturer also lists anaphylaxis as a contraindication.
Powdered infant formula is not sterile. Prepare each feed when required and do not store made-up feeds. Discard unfinished feed as soon as possible and always within 2 hours.
Some separation of the prepared feed may occur because of the specialised formulation. Shake well before use.
