Coloplast Brava® Protective Sheet is a skin-friendly protective sheet designed to be placed underneath an ostomy baseplate, providing an additional layer of protection for vulnerable or moist peristomal skin.

The sheet absorbs excess moisture, helping reduce the risk of skin maceration while creating a smooth, ready surface onto which a new stoma appliance can be applied.

The 10 × 10cm sheet can be cut to the required shape and stoma opening, allowing it to be adapted to individual body contours and areas of affected skin.

Directions:

Clean the skin around the stoma according to the usual stoma-care routine.

Gently dry the area as thoroughly as possible.

Determine the area of skin requiring protection.

Mark the position and size of the stoma opening on the Brava® Protective Sheet.

Carefully cut the sheet to the required shape and opening using suitable scissors.

Remove the protective backing as directed.

Apply the sheet smoothly to the skin around the stoma.

Avoid unnecessarily stretching the sheet during application.

Ensure the sheet lies flat against the skin without wrinkles or folds.

Apply the compatible stoma baseplate or pouching system over the Protective Sheet according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions.

• Designed for external peristomal skin protection

• Used underneath the ostomy baseplate

• Helps manage moisture but does not address the underlying cause of persistent leakage or skin damage

• Cut the stoma opening carefully to achieve an appropriate fit

• Do not cut the opening so tightly that it constricts or damages the stoma

• Ensure the sheet is positioned smoothly without wrinkles or folds

• Persistent moisture or maceration may indicate ongoing leakage or another underlying skin problem

• Recurrent leakage may indicate that the pouching system, aperture size, seal or convexity requires reassessment

• Monitor the skin at each appliance change

• Seek advice from a Stoma Care Nurse if there is persistent soreness, bleeding, ulceration, leakage or deterioration of the peristomal skin
