Capasal Therapeutic Shampoo is a medicated shampoo for dry, scaly and itchy scalp conditions, including psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, seborrhoeic eczema, severe dandruff and cradle cap.

It combines Distilled Coal Tar 1% w/w, which helps relieve itching and normalise skin development, Salicylic Acid 0.5% w/w, which helps loosen and remove scales, and Coconut Oil 1% w/w, which softens and moisturises the scalp.

Directions:

For adults, elderly people, children, infants and babies:

Wet the hair thoroughly.

Massage a small amount of shampoo into the scalp. For short hair, use approximately an amount the size of a 50p coin, adjusting the quantity according to hair length and thickness.

Leave on the scalp for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

If necessary, repeat the application to produce a rich lather, then rinse well and dry the hair.

Capasal may be used daily if necessary. As the scalp condition improves, reduce use to once or twice a week. Occasional continued use may then be required to help maintain control.

Important information:

• For external use only

• Avoid contact with the eyes

• If the shampoo enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water

• Do not use if you are allergic to coal tar, salicylic acid, coconut oil or any of the other ingredients

• Stop treatment if significant irritation develops

• If there is no improvement after 4 weeks, or the scalp condition becomes worse, stop using the product and seek advice from a pharmacist, doctor or nurse

• Contains sodium benzoate, which may cause local irritation

• Sodium benzoate may increase jaundice in newborn babies up to 4 weeks old

• Contains methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone preservatives, which may cause allergic skin reactions in susceptible individuals

• No known adverse effects are stated for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding; seek professional advice if unsure
