Conveen® Contour 5175 provides an 800ml urine collection capacity.

The larger capacity may be particularly useful for people who produce higher volumes of urine or who prefer to empty their leg bag less frequently than would normally be required with a smaller 350ml, 500ml or 600ml bag.

The bag should nevertheless be emptied regularly and before it becomes excessively full or heavy.

An excessively full leg bag can:

45cm inlet tube

The longer tubing can be useful where the catheter or urinary sheath connection and preferred leg-bag position require additional distance between the connection and the bag.

The tube should be positioned so that urine can drain freely without:

• Twisting

• Compression

• Excessive looping

• Pulling on the catheter or sheath

• Becoming trapped beneath clothing

The drainage bag should remain below bladder level when used with a urinary catheter to support effective gravity drainage.

Conveen® Contour chambered design

Unlike a conventional single-compartment leg bag, Conveen® Contour incorporates multiple internal chambers or channels.

After emptying the bag, always check that the clamp is fully and securely closed before repositioning the bag.

Soft non-woven backing

The skin-facing surface incorporates a soft non-woven backing material.

This provides a softer surface between the drainage bag and the leg than direct contact with the plastic bag material.

• Avoid touching the connection surfaces unnecessarily

• Connect the drainage bag securely to the catheter

• Position the bag below bladder level

• Arrange the 45cm tube so that it is not kinked or compressed

• Check that urine is draining freely

Avoid disconnecting the drainage system unnecessarily.

Using with a urinary sheath

Conveen® Contour can also be used with an appropriate male urinary sheath, including compatible Conveen® sheath systems.

The sheath collects urine and directs it through the tubing into the leg bag.

Correct sheath sizing and application are important to help prevent:

• Leakage

• Skin irritation

• Sheath detachment

• Restriction

• Poor drainage

Always follow the instructions supplied with the individual urinary sheath.

Emptying the bag:

The leg bag should be emptied regularly before it becomes excessively full.

Wash and dry your hands.

Position the drainage outlet over a toilet or suitable receptacle.

Open the clamp outlet.

Allow the urine to drain completely.

Avoid allowing the outlet to touch the toilet or collection receptacle.

Close the clamp securely after emptying.

Check visually that the outlet is properly closed.

Reposition the bag as required.

Wash your hands after handling the drainage system.

Positioning the leg bag:

The bag should be positioned securely against the leg using an appropriate leg-bag support or fixation system.

Ensure that:
