Cow & Gate Instant Carobel (6x135g)
Cow & Gate Instant Carobel is a food for special medical purposes used as a thickening agent for the dietary management of habitual and recurrent vomiting, regurgitation and rumination. It contains carob bean gum and can be added directly to liquids or prepared as a paste for spoon feeding. It is suitable for full-term infants, children and adults and must be used under medical supervision.

Maltodextrin, Carob Bean Gum, Calcium Carbonate, Iron Sulphate, Zinc Sulphate.
How to use:
Use according to the instructions provided by a doctor, dietitian or other healthcare professional.
For spoon feeding as a gel, the manufacturer's guidance for breastfed infants is to add 3 level scoops to 60ml of cooled, freshly boiled water. Stir thoroughly and leave for 3–4 minutes to thicken. Stir again and feed immediately in small amounts before and during the milk feed.
Instant Carobel can also be added directly to liquids. The amount required depends on the desired consistency and individual requirements.
One level scoop provides approximately 1.7g of powder.
Allow 3–4 minutes for the product to thicken before adding any additional powder, as adding too much too quickly can result in over-thickening.
Important information:
For enteral use only. Must be used under medical supervision and is not suitable as a sole source of nutrition.
Not recommended for preterm or low-birthweight infants because there is insufficient clinical evidence to support its use in these groups.
Thickened feeds are not usually appropriate for obstructive conditions such as pyloric stenosis or during gastroenteritis.
Some infants may develop frequent loose stools. If this occurs, stop using the product until stools return to normal and seek advice before gradually reintroducing it.
Prepare feeds carefully according to the manufacturer's instructions and discard unused prepared gel after feeding.
Store unopened and opened product in a cool, dry place and do not refrigerate. Once opened, use within 4 weeks.
