Indications

Wound characteristics:

• Moderate to heavily exuding wounds
• Shallow and deep wounds

Chronic wounds, such as:

• Venous ulcer
• Pressure ulcer
• Arterial ulcer
• Diabetic ulcer

Acute wounds, such as:

• Skin donor sites
• Abrasions and lacerations
• Superficial and partial thickness burns

.Cutimed Alginate offers a broad performance spectrum, but is particularly useful for moderate to heavily exuding wounds, shallow wounds, lesions with rough edges, or deeper sites that are hard to dress.

• Facilitates moist wound healing by maintaining a moist environment
• Has haemostatic properties due to calcium ion release from the alginate dressing in contact with body fluids
• Reduces risk of maceration only one layer of exudate is maintained at the wound surface but excess exudate is absorbed
• Helps to clean the wound bacteria are trapped in the gel formed by the exudate absorbed and are then removed during dressing change
• Easily cut to size customisable application
• Highly flexible fibres conform to every wound base
