Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream 2%/1% w/w – 15g (P)

Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream is a combined antifungal and mild corticosteroid treatment for athlete’s foot and fungal sweat rash where the infection is accompanied by redness, itching and inflammation.

It contains Miconazole Nitrate 2% w/w, an antifungal that treats susceptible fungi and yeasts, together with Hydrocortisone 1% w/w, a mild corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, redness and itching.

Suitable for:

• Athlete’s foot where inflammation is also present

• Candidal intertrigo / fungal sweat rash

• Fungal skin infections in these areas accompanied by redness, itching or inflammation

Directions:

For adults, elderly people and children aged 10 years and over:

Apply a small amount to the affected area twice daily.

Rub the cream gently into the skin until it has been absorbed.

Use for a maximum of 7 days.

Once the inflammation has settled, further antifungal treatment may be required with a steroid-free antifungal product, such as an appropriate miconazole preparation. Ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice.

• Do not use in children under 10 years unless prescribed by a doctor

• Do not use for longer than 7 days

• Do not use on large areas of skin

• Do not use on broken skin

• Do not use on the face, eyes or mucous membranes

• Do not use for acne or cold sores

• Do not use for ringworm unless prescribed by a doctor

• Do not use on the genital or anal area unless prescribed by a doctor

• Do not use for secondary infected skin conditions unless prescribed by a doctor

• Avoid covering the treated area with airtight or occlusive dressings unless advised by a healthcare professional

• Stop treatment if significant irritation or an allergic reaction occurs

• If symptoms persist or have not started to improve within 7 days, seek advice from a pharmacist or doctor

• Daktacort may damage latex contraceptives, including condoms and diaphragms, if the cream comes into contact with them

• Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you take warfarin or another vitamin K antagonist, as miconazole can increase its anticoagulant effect

• Contains benzoic acid, which may cause local irritation

• Contains butylhydroxyanisole, which may cause local skin reactions or irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes

• Store below 25°C
