The Dexcom G7 Sensor is an all-in-one real-time Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) sensor designed for people with diabetes aged 2 years and over. Key features:

  • Real-time Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)
  • Automatically sends glucose readings every 5 minutes
  • Up to 10 days of sensor wear
  • Additional 12-hour grace period at the end of the sensor session
  • Fast 30-minute warm-up
  • All-in-one sensor and transmitter
  • No separate transmitter required
  • Factory calibrated – routine finger-prick calibration is not required
  • Customisable high and low glucose alerts
  • Includes an Urgent Low Alert
  • Displays current glucose level and direction of glucose change
  • Compatible with the Dexcom G7 app on supported smartphones
  • Compatible with the optional Dexcom G7 Receiver
  • Supports Dexcom Follow and Dexcom Clarity
  • Compatible with selected smartwatches and insulin pump systems
  • Waterproof to 2.4 metres for up to 24 hours
  • Suitable for people with diabetes aged 2 years and over
  • Single-use sensor

Sensor placement:

  • Back of the upper arm
  • Abdomen
  • Upper buttocks for children aged 2–6 years

Always use an approved sensor site appropriate for the user's age.

How to use:

Clean and thoroughly dry the chosen application site.

Use the supplied applicator to insert the Dexcom G7 Sensor according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Pair the sensor with the Dexcom G7 app or compatible Dexcom G7 Receiver using the sensor's 4-digit pairing code.

After the approximately 30-minute warm-up period, glucose readings will automatically begin.

The sensor can be worn for up to 10 days. At the end of the 10-day session, a 12-hour grace period allows additional flexibility in choosing when to replace the sensor.

Important information:

Dexcom G7 measures glucose in the interstitial fluid rather than directly in the blood.

If glucose alerts or readings do not match your symptoms or expectations, use a blood glucose meter to make diabetes treatment decisions.

Check that your smartphone model and operating system are compatible with the Dexcom G7 app before use. The Dexcom G6 Receiver is not compatible with Dexcom G7 Sensors.

The sensor must be removed before an MRI scan or high-frequency electrical heat treatment such as diathermy. For CT scans, Dexcom advises that the sensor may remain in place only if it can be kept outside the scanned area and appropriately protected.

Hydroxyurea can cause falsely high Dexcom sensor readings. Higher-than-recommended doses of paracetamol may also cause readings to appear higher than the actual glucose level.

Do not reuse the sensor. Replace it when the sensor session and grace period have ended, or earlier if instructed by the system.
