Coloplast Assura® Extra is a two-piece ostomy baseplate with an extended-wear adhesive designed to provide additional protection against more aggressive stoma output.

The baseplate forms the adhesive skin barrier component of the Assura® two-piece system. A compatible Assura® pouch attaches separately using a mechanical coupling system with an audible click, helping confirm that the pouch has been securely connected.

Code 2833 has a 60mm coupling and a cut-to-fit opening suitable for stomas from approximately 10–55mm. It is supplied as a box of 5 baseplates.

What does 60mm mean?

The 60mm measurement refers to the coupling between the baseplate and pouch.

It does not mean that the stoma opening is 60mm.

Code 2833 can be cut to fit a stoma measuring approximately 10–55mm.

A compatible 60mm Assura® pouch must be used with this baseplate.

The Assura® Extra adhesive is particularly designed for people with ileostomies or urostomies where more aggressive output can reduce the wear time of standard adhesives.

Directions:

Measure the stoma carefully using an appropriate stoma measuring guide.

Mark the required opening on the baseplate.

Carefully cut the opening so that it fits closely around the stoma without touching or constricting it.

The cut opening must remain within the specified 10–55mm range.

Clean the skin around the stoma according to the usual stoma-care routine and ensure that it is appropriately dry.

Remove the protective backing from the baseplate.

Centre the opening over the stoma.

Apply the baseplate smoothly to the skin and press gently around the adhesive area to establish secure contact.

Select a compatible 60mm Assura® two-piece pouch.

Align the pouch coupling with the baseplate coupling and press the components together.

An audible click helps confirm that the pouch has been securely locked onto the baseplate.

Check around the entire coupling before use to ensure that it is fully connected.
