ConvaTec ESENTA™ Stomahesive® Paste 60g (Code: 183910) – 1 Tube
ESENTA™ Stomahesive® Paste is a pectin-based hydrocolloid ostomy paste designed to fill gaps, creases, folds and uneven skin surfaces around the stoma.
The paste helps create a smoother surface between the skin and the stoma appliance, supporting a closer seal and helping reduce the risk of stoma output leaking underneath the baseplate. By filling irregular areas, it can also help protect vulnerable peristomal skin and improve ostomy appliance wear time.
Key features:
-
Hydrocolloid / pectin-based ostomy paste
-
Acts as a skin barrier, filler and caulking material
-
Helps fill creases, folds, scars and uneven skin contours
-
Helps close gaps between the stoma and skin barrier
-
Helps reduce the risk of leakage underneath the appliance
-
Helps protect peristomal skin from contact with stoma output
-
Can help improve baseplate adhesion and wear time
-
Suitable for use with a wide range of ostomy pouching systems
-
Particularly useful where the skin surface around the stoma is irregular
-
Suitable for colostomy, ileostomy and urostomy care
-
ConvaTec code: 183910
-
60g tube
-
Supplied individually
Suitable for:
-
Filling creases and folds around the stoma
-
Filling scarred or uneven peristomal skin
-
Helping create a smoother surface beneath a stoma baseplate
-
Closing small gaps between the stoma and appliance opening
-
Helping reduce leakage underneath the pouching system
-
Protecting peristomal skin from exposure to stoma output
-
Flush or retracted stomas where additional filling may be required
-
Colostomy, ileostomy and urostomy appliances where a stoma paste is appropriate
Directions:
Ensure the skin around the stoma is clean and dry before application.
Apply a small amount of Stomahesive® Paste to the areas that require filling, such as creases, folds, scars or gaps around the stoma.
The paste may be applied to the peristomal skin or to the appropriate area of the stoma appliance skin barrier according to the manufacturer's instructions and individual stoma-care technique.
Use only enough paste to fill the uneven area and create a smoother surface.
Apply the stoma pouch or baseplate over the prepared area and press gently into place to establish a secure seal.
When changing the appliance, gently remove residual paste as part of the normal skin-cleansing routine.
Important information:
-
For external ostomy-care use only
-
Stomahesive® Paste is primarily a filler/caulking product rather than an adhesive glue
-
Use only the amount required to fill uneven areas
-
Do not apply directly into the stoma
-
Avoid unnecessary application to large areas of healthy skin
-
Do not use if you have a known sensitivity to any of the product ingredients
-
Stop use if significant irritation or an unexpected skin reaction develops
-
Stoma size and abdominal contours can change over time, so appliance fit should be reassessed periodically
-
Persistent leakage may indicate that the pouch, baseplate, seal or convexity requires reassessment
-
Seek advice from a Stoma Care Nurse if leakage, soreness or peristomal skin damage continues
-
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use
