Minitran 5mg/24h Transdermal Patches contain glyceryl trinitrate (GTN), a nitrate medicine used to help prevent angina attacks. The patch releases GTN gradually through the skin, helping widen blood vessels and reduce the workload on the heart.

Active ingredient:
Each patch contains:
- Glyceryl Trinitrate: 18mg
- Average amount delivered over 24 hours: 5mg
Each patch has a surface area of 6.7cm².
How to use:
Adults: Treatment is usually started with one Minitran 5mg patch per day, unless otherwise directed by a doctor.
Remove the protective film and apply the patch to a clean, dry, healthy area of skin on the torso or arms. Do not apply a new patch to the same area of skin for several days.
The patch may be worn continuously for 24 hours or used with a patch-free period. Where a nitrate-free interval is required, an 8–12 hour patch-free period, usually at night, may be recommended. Follow the dosing schedule advised by your doctor or pharmacist.
Important information:
Minitran is used to prevent angina attacks and is not suitable for treating a sudden acute angina attack. A fast-acting GTN medicine, such as a sublingual spray or tablet, should be used for acute symptoms as prescribed.
Do not use Minitran with medicines for erectile dysfunction such as sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil, as the combination can cause a severe fall in blood pressure. Do not use with riociguat.
Do not use if you have severe low blood pressure, severe anaemia, severe loss of blood or body fluid, or certain serious heart or circulatory conditions unless specifically advised by your doctor.
Common or recognised side effects can include headache, nausea, dizziness, flushing, low blood pressure and skin irritation at the application site. Change the application site regularly to help reduce local skin irritation.
Alcohol and some medicines used to lower blood pressure may increase the blood-pressure-lowering effect of Minitran. Speak to a pharmacist or doctor if you take other medicines.
