Biatain Ag Adhesive is a sterile antimicrobial polyurethane foam dressing containing a silver complex and a hydrocolloid adhesive border, designed for the management of exuding wounds with delayed healing due to bacteria or wounds at risk of infection.
The soft, conformable foam absorbs and retains wound exudate while releasing silver into the wound environment. The hydrocolloid adhesive border helps keep the dressing securely in position, making Biatain Ag Adhesive particularly suitable where additional adhesion is required.

Composition:
Biatain Ag Adhesive consists of:

When the foam comes into contact with wound exudate, silver is released into the wound environment, providing antimicrobial activity while the foam absorbs and retains exudate.
The adhesive border provides additional fixation and helps keep the dressing securely positioned on intact surrounding skin.
How to use:
Clean the wound and surrounding skin according to the recommended wound-care procedure, for example using physiological saline or lukewarm water.
Gently dry the surrounding skin.
If a barrier film, cream, ointment or similar product is used on the surrounding skin, allow it to dry before applying the dressing.
If the wound is low exuding, the foam may be moistened with sterile physiological saline before application.
Open the sterile pouch.
Use the protective films to avoid touching the wound-contact surface and adhesive unnecessarily.
Apply the non-printed side of the foam towards the wound, ensuring that the absorbent foam covers the wound bed.
Remove the remaining protective film and gently smooth the adhesive border onto the surrounding skin to achieve an even and secure fit.
Dressing change frequency:
Biatain Ag Adhesive should be changed according to:
- Amount of wound exudate
- Condition of the wound
- Infection status
- Condition of the surrounding skin
- Clinical assessment
The dressing should be changed when visible exudate approaches the edge of the foam or when otherwise clinically indicated.
Biatain Ag Adhesive may remain in place for up to 7 days when wound and exudate conditions allow.
To remove, gently loosen the adhesive border and slowly lift the dressing away from the wound and surrounding skin.
