Element Blood Glucose Test Strips are designed for use with the Element Auto-coding Blood Glucose Meter for self-monitoring of blood glucose. The strips require only a very small blood sample and provide a result in approximately 3 seconds.

Key features:

  • For use with the Element Blood Glucose Meter
  • Requires only a 0.3µL blood sample
  • Provides results in approximately 3 seconds
  • Auto-coding system
  • Automatically draws the blood sample into the test strip
  • Plasma-calibrated results
  • Suitable for fresh capillary whole blood
  • Alternative-site testing may be possible when appropriate
  • Measurement range: 0.6–33.3mmol/L
  • Single-use test strips
  • Box of 50 strips
  • PIP code: 367-5394

How to use:

Wash and thoroughly dry your hands before testing.

Remove one Element test strip from the vial and close the vial immediately.

Insert the strip into the Element meter. Check that the code displayed by the meter matches the code shown on the test strip vial.

Use a compatible lancing device to obtain a small drop of blood. Touch the edge of the test strip to the blood sample and allow the strip to draw in the required amount.

When sufficient blood has been applied, the meter will automatically begin the countdown and display the blood glucose result after approximately 3 seconds.

Important information:

Use only with the Element Auto-coding Blood Glucose Monitoring System.

Test strips are for single use only. Never reuse a strip.

Store the strips in their original vial at 2–30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep the vial tightly closed and use each strip immediately after removing it.

Discard any remaining strips 3 months after first opening the vial, or by the printed expiry date if sooner.

Do not add more blood after the meter has started its countdown. If the strip has not filled correctly, discard it and repeat the test using a new strip.

Alternative-site testing should not be used when blood glucose is changing rapidly, after meals or exercise, following insulin administration, or when hypoglycaemia is suspected. In these situations, fingertip testing is recommended.

If a blood glucose result does not match how you feel or appears unexpectedly high or low, repeat the test with a new strip and follow your diabetes management plan or seek advice from a healthcare professional.
