eakin Cohesive® Seals are mouldable, moisture-absorbing ostomy barrier rings designed to help create a secure seal between the stoma and the pouching system.

The seals absorb moisture and stoma output, transforming into a protective gel that helps shield vulnerable peristomal skin. Their soft, mouldable construction allows them to be stretched, shaped, cut or rejoined to fit closely around the stoma and to help fill creases, folds, scars and uneven skin contours.

They can be used underneath compatible one-piece or two-piece stoma appliances to help reduce leakage and improve the fit of the pouching system.

Large eakin Cohesive® Seal – Code: 839001

Suitable for:

• Colostomy

Directions:

Ensure the skin around the stoma is clean, dry and free from grease, creams or other residue.

Remove the seal from its packaging.

Warm the seal between your hands for approximately 20–30 seconds until it becomes soft and easy to mould.

Remove the protective discs.

Gently stretch and shape the seal to fit closely around the stoma.

If necessary, the seal can be cut or divided and securely rejoined to accommodate more difficult shapes or contours.

Apply the seal to the skin using gentle pressure.

Mould it closely towards the base of the stoma so that there are no exposed gaps between the stoma and the seal.

Apply the compatible stoma pouch or baseplate directly over the seal and hold gently in place until securely attached.

Removal:

Gently remove the stoma appliance.

Carefully peel and roll the eakin Cohesive® Seal away from the skin, beginning at the outer edge.

Any remaining material may be gently rolled away. A suitable medical adhesive remover may be used if required.

Important information:

• For external stoma and peristomal skin use

• Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use

• Ensure the skin is clean and dry before application

• Do not leave gaps between the stoma and the seal

• Select the most appropriate diameter and thickness for the individual stoma and abdominal contour

• Stoma size and shape can change over time, so reassess the fit regularly

• Do not use if you have a known sensitivity to any of the product materials

• Stop use and seek advice if significant irritation or an unexpected skin reaction develops

• Persistent leakage, soreness or peristomal skin damage may indicate that the pouching system requires reassessment

• Seek advice from a Stoma Care Nurse if leakage or skin problems continue despite appropriate use

• Store in a dry place and according to the manufacturer's instructions
